Privacy Policy

What we collect, how we use it, and how to ask us to delete it. Plain English first, the legal phrasing second.

This Privacy Policy explains how Expert Choice US (“we,” “us,” or “the site”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit expertchoiceus.com. By using the site you consent to the practices described below.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us. When you submit the contact form we receive your name, email address, subject line, and message. If you choose to leave a comment on a post, your display name, email, and the comment content are stored.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure logs basic technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited. We use this for security monitoring and performance.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. We and our service providers may set cookies or use similar technologies to remember session state, measure traffic, and improve the site. You can disable cookies in your browser; some site features may stop working if you do.

How we use the information

  • To respond to messages you send via the contact form.
  • To moderate and display reader comments.
  • To understand how readers use the site so we can improve it.
  • To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security issues.
  • To comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests.

Affiliate links and third-party tracking

Expert Choice US contains affiliate links (see our Affiliate Disclosure). When you click an affiliate link and visit the destination retailer, that retailer’s own privacy policy applies. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites.

We may also use analytics services (for example Google Analytics) to understand site usage in aggregate. These services may set cookies and collect information about your visit subject to their own privacy policies.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers (hosting, email delivery, analytics, security) who process data on our behalf, under contracts that restrict their use of it.
  • Legal authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
  • Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case any transfer is subject to this policy.

Data retention

Contact form submissions are retained as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and address any follow-up. Comments are retained as long as they are visible on the site. Analytics data is retained per the configured analytics provider settings.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [contact@expertchoiceus.com] from the email associated with the data. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Residents of California, the EEA, the United Kingdom, and certain other jurisdictions may have additional rights under state or national law (e.g., the CCPA, GDPR). Those rights apply to the extent required by applicable law.

Children’s privacy

Expert Choice US is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us so we can delete it.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we hold. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
